About Me

Your Trusted Guide to Lasting Change

I am a highly credentialed Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) whose practice is built on a foundation of over 18 years of intensive clinical experience across a wide spectrum of psychological and organizational settings. I bring a depth of knowledge and a compassionate, results-oriented approach to my private practice.

My distinguished academic path began overseas, where I studied at a prestigious college in England, obtaining a comprehensive Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Psychology. Upon relocating to Canada, I immediately immersed myself in community service, gaining invaluable experience by volunteering with essential organizations like the Surrey Crisis Line, the Surrey School District, Burnaby Youth Open Custody Centre, and RCMP Victim Services. This early commitment laid the foundation for a clinical perspective that is both rigorous and deeply empathic.

Further cementing my expertise, I graduated from the rigorous Master of Arts Counselling Psychology program at City University of Seattle in 2008 and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC.

My extensive experience demonstrates my expertise in managing complex psychological needs across diverse age groups and challenging circumstances. My professional roles have included:

Meet Amanda: Your Trusted Guide to Lasting Change

Amanda is a highly credentialed Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) whose practice is built on a foundation of over 18 years of intensive clinical experience across a wide spectrum of psychological and organizational settings. Amanda brings a depth of knowledge and a compassionate, results-oriented approach to her private practice.

Upon relocating to Canada, Amanda immediately immersed herself in community service, gaining invaluable experience by volunteering with essential organizations like the Surrey Crisis Line, the Surrey School District, Burnaby Youth Open Custody Centre, and RCMP Victim Services. Further cementing her expertise, Amanda graduated from the rigorous Master of Arts Counselling Psychology program at City University of Seattle in 2008 and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC.

Amanda’s extensive experience demonstrates her expertise in managing complex psychological needs across diverse age groups and challenging circumstances. Her professional roles have included:

  • Serving the Surrey School District (elementary, high school, and learning centers) for many years, building a profound understanding of child and adolescent development.

  • Senior Clinical Counsellor roles within the public sector, including the Ministry of Children and Family Development.

  • Specialized Expertise in trauma, honed through years of successful work with ICBC-referred clients. I expertly treat Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD), severe anxiety, and depression, specializing in developing comprehensive strategies for healing and supported return-to-work integration.

  • Guiding emerging professionals as a Student Counsellor at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus).

  • Executive Counselling and Support through providing high-level clinical services via Employee and Family Assistance Programs (EAP/EFAP).

I am exceptionally skilled in working with individuals, couples, families, youth, and children. My therapeutic philosophy is grounded in a belief in the client’s capacity for profound change. I provide evidence-based, confidential counselling and effective therapeutic space, where clients can build the tools needed to navigate life’s challenges and foster meaningful growth, transitioning from crisis to stability and long-term well-being.

Being a wife, mother and business owner has given me a deeper understanding of how challenging it can be to balance the many demands of life. Raising my beautiful twin girls while navigating the responsibilities, pressures, and unexpected seasons that life brings has shaped not only who I am as a person, but also the compassion I bring into my counselling practice.

My understanding doesn’t come solely from education and professional training – it also comes from lived experience. I know what it feels like to carry stress, uncertainty, overwhelm, and the emotional weight that can come with trying to care for everyone else while losing yourself in the process.

These experiences allow me to support my clients with empathy, understanding, and genuine connection. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. Healing, growth, and balance are possible, and sometimes the strongest thing we can do is allow ourselves to receive support along the way.

I’ve learned that no one is meant to carry everything on their own – and neither should you.

I invite you to take the next step toward a more balanced and fulfilling life. Contact me today to arrange a complimentary 15-minute introductory consultation.
